NONG MALIN
Interactive Game
The interactive game "น้องมาลินหัวใจมีรู (NONG MALIN)" is an interactive educational game designed to help elementary school–aged children develop a basic understanding of Heart Valve Regurgitation through an engaging and enjoyable learning experience.
FUTURE IMPACT
In the future, the interactive game “NONG MALIN” can be further enhanced by expanding into a mobile application and integrating with a web platform to improve accessibility and reach a wider audience. Additional educational content covering other common health conditions could also be introduced, allowing the experience to grow beyond a single topic. These enhancements would support more flexible learning opportunities, increase accessibility across different platforms, and encourage continuous engagement, with the potential to evolve into a scalable and comprehensive digital learning platform for children.
DESIGN IMPROVMENT
After conducting usability testing, several issues were identified that impacted the overall user experience. It became clear that some interactive elements lacked proper touch accessibility, as buttons were too small and difficult to tap accurately, so button sizes and interaction areas were increased to improve usability. Additionally, video performance was optimized by embedding content from YouTube instead of using large local files, reducing load time and improving playback responsiveness. These improvements enhanced interaction accessibility, performance, and overall user experience.
USABILITY TESTING
A prototype was developed to evaluate the interactive educational game and overall user experience. The usability test was conducted with 7 participants to identify usability issues and interaction challenges.
ISSUE 1: INTERACTION DIFFICULTY
Some action buttons in quiz questions were too small, making it difficult for users to tap accurately and complete interactions smoothly.
ISSUE 2: VIDEO PERFORMANCE
Video content responded slowly due to large file sizes, affecting playback performance and interrupting the learning flow.
PROBLEM
Health education for children, especially topics related to medical conditions such as heart valve regurgitation, is often presented in a way that is too complex and difficult to understand. Traditional learning formats may also lack engagement, making it challenging for children to stay interested and absorb the information effectively. This creates an opportunity to design an interactive learning experience that simplifies complex concepts while making the content more engaging, enjoyable, and accessible for young learners.

USER FLOW
I mapped out the user flow to create a structured and intuitive learning experience, allowing users to navigate from the main menu to language selection, educational content, quizzes, and guidance. The flow supports flexible learning paths while maintaining clarity, helping users easily engage with the content and progress through the experience.
